An audit by SGS assessed the company’s environmental management standard ISO 14001 and Burnt Tree passed with flying colours with extremely positive feedback from the auditor.
As a part of our continual improvement strategy we have reduced general waste produced by 32%, achieved a hazardous waste recycling level of 93.4% - which according to SGS is as practicable as we can get to zero landfill for hazardous waste - and we've also reduced water consumption by 21.4%.
Charlie Bailey, Group Procurement Manager, said: ‘By looking at new technology and working with both body shop employees and suppliers, we have managed to significantly reduce the VOC emissions from our body shop operation by 37.4% bringing us below the permit/licensing threshold.’
Richard Metcalfe, CEO added: ‘Achieving high results gives our clients the assurance that as a team we deliver excellence. We also want to continually improve our services and expertise and audits help us to identify areas where there is still room to grow and excel.’
