Burnt Tree Vehicle Rental help Calday Grammar School in Cross Country Relay For Childhood Cancer Research.
Burnt Tree, Manchester have provided a 15 seater mini bus to Calday Grammar School for their Land’s End to John O’Groats Running Relay in support of Childhood Cancer Research at Alder Hey Hospital.
The challenge commenced on the 8th July and was initiated after one of the runners taking part collapsed on a family holiday in October 2008 and has been receiving chemotherapy ever since at Alder Hey for advanced lymphoblastic leukaemia.
Peter Williams, Contract Hire Sales Manager at Manchester, was approached by Calday Grammar School and commented: ‘Burnt Tree have been supplying Calday Grammar School with its mini buses for a number of years so I was delighted to be able to support them in the charity relay from Lands End to John O'Groats. We are more than happy to help and wish them all the luck with what is a giant challenge for a tremendous cause.’
The runners will travel down to Penzance on Friday 8th July and will use the minibus each day as they attempt the mammoth challenge of running North through the country via the school, Alder Hey and Arran to John O’Groats where their challenge will conclude at Calday on Sunday 24th July.
