Mark Lloyd, Event Organiser
Burnt Tree Vehicle Rental empoyees, family and friends became Shropshire's wackiest racers at the 'Wacky Treasure Hunt' on Sunday the 21st of August. The drivers geared up to raise funds for our charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support.
From Dick Dastardly and Muttley to Penelope Pitstop, teams took off across Shropshire answering clues, finding hidden treasure and taking in the beautiful countryside, visiting some fabulous English Heritage sites such as Lilleshall Abbey, Moreton Corbet Castle, Wroxeter Roman City as well as Hawkstone Park Follies and Attingham Park.
Mark Lloyd, Senior Fleet Controller at Head Office said "...the Wacky Treasure Hunt was a great success, participants used their map reading skills, mastered riddles and anagrams and importantly had fun all in the name of raising money for a great cause."
Congratulations go to Bill Thomas and the "Wacky Outlaws" who finished in first place, closely followed by Rupert Robinson's team "Robinson Crew-Sing" and Dave Toothill and Richard Cordiner's "The Slagg Brothers" who finished in third.
Clare Nester, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan said "Burnt Tree Vehicle Rental have come up with a really innovative and fun event. It's certainly the first of its kind we have come across! We hope everyone enjoyed the day while raising money to help those affected by cancer."
A huge thank you to Mark Lloyd, Nikki Prosser, Heather Blake and Amy Fortune for arranging a spectacular event for everyone.
