Burnt Tree go HIRE than anyone else
Burnt Tree Vehicle Rental raises £5,700 for Macmillan Cancer Support and is awarded Best Corporate Newcomer Award.
In 2010 the Head Office, Shrewsbury and Telford branches of Burnt Tree Vehicle Rental were challenged by Chief Executive, Richard Metcalfe to bring more fun in to the workplace by raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The results far exceeded anyone’s expectations when Burnt Tree was awarded Best Corporate Newcomer at the Shropshire Macmillan Centenary Awards on 7th April 2011.
Mark Lloyd, Fleet Controller for Burnt Tree said “It was very humbling and we certainly didn’t expect to win an award! This is our first year supporting Macmillan and we are looking forward to raising more money this year for them”
To raise the £5,700 – approximately 30% of the total amount raised by businesses in Shropshire - Burnt Tree employees, family and friends climbed to the top of Snowdon, organised numerous cake sales and put on a series of special events including Wii Wednesdays, Bonkers Conkers, quizzes and even a pancake race.
In 2011, the Centenary Year for Macmillan, Burnt Tree has chosen to fundraise for them again and with a number of activities already taking place the firm looks forward to another great total.
Clare Nester, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan in Shropshire, said, “ Burnt Tree have been fantastic supporters of Macmillan. They have been really organised and have planned some great events for staff. We are thrilled they have chosen to support us again this year, and look forward to developing our partnership. A huge thank you to all the staff who have helped to raise such a fantastic amount of money!”.
