Burnt Tree Starts Year With Branch Expansion

Three new Sprinters

Three new Sprinters

Vehicle solutions provider Burnt Tree is kicking off 2008 with a number of branch openings and relocations in the South East, North West, and West Yorkshire.

The year has started significantly with the Group opening its first branch in the South East, near Dartford. The venture is being headed up by two well known faces within vehicle rental, Vic Payne and Paul Neal. Between them they have over 12 years experience in the industry.

Vic explains the decision to open Burnt Tree’s latest location; “As a Group we have a clear strategy for new branches and no where more so than in the South East. While the company already has locations capable of serving the region, the ever increasing demand meant we had to take the next step and have a physical presence in the area.”

The team has already taken on a number of customers including utilities and local authorities and sees the business to business sector as its core customer base. Vic added: “We anticipate the vast majority of our turnover will come from trade users who are primarily geared towards car & van rental, but we also have available a wide range of trucks and specialised vehicles.”

Burnt Tree Chief Executive, Richard Metcalfe, said “Extending our branch network with quality premises is a key target for us in 2008. The opening of our first location in the South East is highly significant and clearly demonstrates how serious we are about taking the Burnt Tree to the next level.”

This opening means the creation of a number of new jobs at the branch, while more new jobs have been created by Burnt Tree’s relocation in Wigan.

Here Burnt Tree has moved to larger and better equipped premises with an enhanced environment for both customers and staff. Having increased its customer base substantially over the last six years the company had outgrown its old location some 10 minutes away from the new site. The move brings with it better road links and more land, enabling the branch to expand its range of vehicles.

Richard Metcalfe added: “We won’t just be opening as many branches as physically possible though, getting the right people to staff them and the right premises is just as important in order to maintain our reputation for good levels of customer service.”
